Recoil

What do today's students think about guns? Recoil explores the complexities of gun ownership, violence, and protest through the voices of young people. Created using real first-person accounts, we interrogate the polarizing world of pro- and anti- gun culture through story, song, and movement. What does it mean to hold a gun, to fire one, to face one? From national tragedies like Sandy Hook to Hollywood movies and first-person shooters - how have guns transformed our world?

This world premiere is devised by Theatre Arts students at the University of Pittsburgh in collaboration with Professor Cynthia Croot, Associate Professor and Head of Performance.
